alfaQuest Installs
Centralized PrintExpress Consolidated Production System
Providing Corporate Enterprise Print Management
For The Journal Register Corporation

Rolling Meadows, IL, August 8, 2011 — alfaQuest Technologies is pleased to announce the completed installation and implementation of a centralized PrintExpress Consolidated Production Management system at the Journal Register Corporation.

The Journal Register Company installed an enterprise-wide PrintExpress system on VM Ware servers located at their corporate headquarters in Yardley, PA. The first property to go live on the new print production system was the Morning Journal in Lorain, OH, followed by the New Haven Register, the Middletown Press and the Register Citizen, with more to follow. The JRC PrintExpress system receives incoming PDFs and automatically processes them based on naming conventions through various production workflows which provide RIPping, Page Imposition/Pairing, Ink Presetting, and routing of Group 4 TIFFs to the proper print site.

“PrintExpress gives us the flexibility and speed we are looking for as we consolidate our print production as part of Project Thunderdome,” said Gustavo Rios, Director of Content Services for Journal Register Company. “We will be able to process hundreds of pages through this system and track them across the Journal Register Company network while being able to leverage PrintExpress’ modular architecture to route pages and highly automate this process.”
