RipExpress  (PDF Brochure: 70 kb)

RipExpress is based on Adobe's Configurable PostScript Interpreter (CPSI) providing consistent, accurate interpretation of PostScript files. RipExpress is a highly versatile, well engineered software RIP that handles both color and monochrome PostScript 3 files. RipExpress combines optimum performance with an exclusive user-friendly interface and is available on Sun UltraSPARC and Pentium PC platforms running Windows 2000.

The RIP is a full implementation of Adobe's PostScript 3 software which offers performance improvements and benefits like the direct processing and printing of PDF files. PDF files 1.4 are fully supported. Escor III Screens can be utilized for superior looking output. With Escor III, stepping is eliminated on imagesetters and computer-to-plate systems in vignettes with up to 4096 levels of grey.

RipExpress with PostScript 3 can also achieve full performance on PostScript 2 files using the revolutionary idiom recognizer. This allows RipExpress to identify PostScript 2 jobs, and convert them to make use of all of the features of Adobe PostScript 3. Color Preview is standard for both the Sun and Windows 2000 versions of RipExpress

Color Preview provides a full color on-screen preview of the RIPped job. The previewed bitmap can be sent directly to the high-resolution recorder or optionally be imaged to a color proofer for further evaluation of the job.

• Adobe Accurate Screens and Harmony Screens.

• Halftone and calibration tables.

• Set of 136 fonts supplied as standard.

• TIFF input

• OPI: This provides directories into which MGS3 can put high resolution pictures as they are logged to the system. OPI substitution can then occur on the RIP as pages are printed. This is useful in remote printing systems by allowing pictures to be transmitted down telephone lines prior to pages being printed.

• FM Screens: Stochastic screening using Adobe Brilliant Screens.
